Joint Strike Fighter Selects ORBexpress for Security Certification
Communications, Navigation and Identification system using ORBexpress
The Joint Strike Fighter program has selected ORBexpress to be certified under the Common Criteria, the world’s most widely adopted security certification standard. ORBexpress is undergoing this certification for the F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter’s Communications, Navigation and Identification (CNI) system, an advanced and complex avionics system that must be certified to comply with rigorous security requirements.
The CNI system is a crucial component for the success of the F-35’s advanced warfighting mission. The CNI system needs the highest level of security to insure seamless and uninterrupted performance on the battlefield. The integrated CNI avionics feature software-defined radios (SDR) that simultaneously carry out numerous tasks such as various voice and data communications and identification functions.
The F-35 Lightning II JSF CNI package includes advanced capabilities such as friend-or-foe identification of approaching aircraft, automatic acquisition of fly-to points and secure multiwave, multiband, multimode wireless communications.
ORBexpress is the world's first communications middleware to undergo this stringent security evaluation. When failure is not an option, the most demanding mission-critical missions rely on ORBexpress. Read More»
